Welcome to 'Worn to be Wild', a touring exhibition of costume inspired by British wildlife and the history of fashion from Medieval to the present. Each of the 17 costumes represent a species of bird or mammal combined with a period of dress.Designed and created by Costume Maker and Textile Artist Kate Plumtree, whose research process fused the most suitable period style to each each animal. Her location photography, design and construction portfolios and tactile fabric samples are displayed alongside the costumes, Launched at Banbury Museum in 2009 , 'Worn to be Wild' has toured continuously in museums and galleries across the UK. Now on .display at the stunningly refurbished Museum of Somerset, then fully booked into more venues until November 2013, Currently available to hire into 2014 onwards.
